What Holistic Health Means to Me
Holistic Health isn’t about doing more; it’s about understanding what your body actually needs.
To me, it’s about support.
Support through change.
Support through stress.
Support through seasons where life feels grounded—and seasons where it feels completely upside down.
I didn’t come to holistic health because everything in my life was perfect. I came to it because I needed something that actually worked in real life. Something that made sense more than receiving a pill bottle to relieve a symptom surrounding pain.
Over the past few years, I’ve lived in different countries, supported a partner playing professional hockey, studied holistic nutrition, built a business from scratch, navigated anxiety, identity shifts, independence, body changes, burnout, and growth—all while trying to take care of myself in a way that felt sustainable.
What I learned quickly is this: health cannot exist in isolation.
Health Is More Than Food
Food matters—deeply.
But it’s never the whole story.
You can eat “perfectly” and still feel exhausted, anxious, inflamed, or disconnected from your body. You can follow every rule and still feel like something is missing.
Holistic health looks at the full picture:
How you eat
Why you eat
How you sleep
How you manage stress
How safe does your nervous system feel
How supported do you feel emotionally
How does your lifestyle align with your values
When one of these areas is consistently neglected, the body communicates through fatigue, digestive issues, mood changes, cravings, hormonal imbalances, or burnout.
Real healing doesn’t come from doing more.
It comes from doing what’s right for you.
What I Believe In
With Balanced by Brook, I stand for:
Balance over extremes
I don’t believe in rigid rules, fear-based food lists, or one-size-fits-all protocols. Life is fluid—your approach to health should be too.
Nervous system–first wellness
If your body is constantly in a state of fight-or-flight, no nutrition plan will ever truly stick. Regulation, safety, and calm are foundational.
Mental and physical health are inseparable
Your digestion, hormones, energy, sleep, cravings, and mood are deeply connected. Addressing one without the other misses the point.
Real-life sustainability
Health has to work on busy weeks, travel days, stressful seasons, social events, and emotional days—not just on your “best” days.
Compassion as a strategy
Guilt and shame don’t heal the body. Education, understanding, and self-trust do.
Why I Work the Way I Do
I don’t coach from a pedestal. I coach from experience, education, and empathy.
I know what it feels like to:
Want to feel better, but feel overwhelmed by information
Try to do everything “right” and still feel off
Lose trust in your body
Feel disconnected from food or your own intuition
Want health without losing joy
That’s why my approach is collaborative, personalized, and realistic. We don’t chase perfection—we build awareness, resilience, and confidence.
What Balanced by Brook Is Really About
Balanced by Brook exists to help you:
Feel safe in your body again
Understand your health without fear
Create routines that support your life, not control it
Improve energy, digestion, mood, and clarity
Build habits that last beyond a program
This isn’t about becoming a different version of yourself.
It’s about coming back to yourself—with better tools, better support, and a deeper sense of balance.
Because health isn’t a destination.
It’s a relationship.
And you deserve one that feels steady, empowering, and kind.
